Track Name: Ugly Side
One moment of peace while you are not here. Breathe free again until you reappear, smothering all. All of us drown. Garbage in tow. You’re a virus in my head. You’re a virus and you spread all over everything. I can’t shake-shake-shake, I can’t shake. You might not see it’s my ugly side. I may wear a smile, but you can hear that I speak with an edge, words getting sharp, poison that spreads. Oh oh! Where is my shield? Where is my forcefield when I need it most? When I need it most? Where is my shield? Where is my forcefield when I need it most? When I need it most? You are always there – everywhere I wanna be. Your shadow all that I see. Closing my eyes makes me kinda nervous. You’re nearby; I can feel it. I will not succumb to whatever it is you’re trying to make of me.
Track Name: Prohibition
Two twin girls run through the halls. The walls are closing in. Act natural, act natural. No crawling of the skin. The screams are in the distance but their hearts are pounding loud. Up the stairs, down the stairs, you’re not in Kansas now. How to solve your problems using alcohol. Out into the courtyard, in the moonlight they are exposed. Don’t forget to step lightly; stay calm and composed. Find the secret ballroom: safe, silent and empty. Under the chandelier, whisper how things should be. Keep walking, keep walking, little twins, no talking. Start running, start running. Who do you think is coming?
Track Name: So Super Slow
You’re never noticing. Not looking my way. I put it on the line and you don’t care. You’ve got it easy – I’ve been studying. I did it all for you and you weren’t there. Oh, you haven’t got a clue all the things I do for you, and you move so super slow. Oh, you haven’t got a clue all of the things I do for you, and you move so, so slow. I made you breakfast. You never showed up. You’re doing a terrible job of sticking to my plan. I read your face like the neon Vegas sign. Don’t say you can’t because I know you can. I never asked for this. I wasn’t looking for you. I’ll hold my breath and turn blue.
Track Name: Get Your Don't
Get ready to tear it apart. Get ready to jump ahead and read the end before you start. You hope these words are the key to your own personal mystery. Don’t get your hopes up. It’ll hurt worse on the way down. Don’t get your hopes up. It’ll hurt worse on the way down. You want me to bare my soul. You want my skin peeled off, exposing all my insides to the cold. I keep my gold armor on, sword shining by my side, yeah, all along. Everybody said that it was time for me to move ahead, keep the armor on, it isn’t wrong, protect myself instead. Oh, and they were right. Now I sleep through the night.
Track Name: January Shock
Why should I put in my time, cross my “t”s, dot my “i”s? Paying dues is the stuff of fairytales. See the world through apathetic eyes; love is useless when I die. Why does it matter if I fail? A cigarette burns in my chest. Breathe so deep, no need to keep my lungs intact. Right on track. You tied your heart to a string. You did all these silly things and yet the sun will rise again. It happens o-o-over and o-o-over cause it’s not the end. Yeah, the sun will rise again and you’re standing on the edge of the rocks. January Shock. Too stunned to talk. Are you terrified now? Gotta make it work somehow. You blew it all in the last seven years. Thought you were safe; you knew your fate, took it all, put it down on seventeen. You tied your heart to a string, told yourself these silly things and yet the sun will rise again. So whatcha gonna do? You called it quits too soon. Instead of burning out, you’re gonna fade away. Not sorry now.
Track Name: Nowhere Anywhere
He looks in the mirror. Nothing is clear. Where’s he taking it from here? goes his mind, dead or alive inside fluorescent lights. Open his hand, hand on the desk, desk in the corner. Three stories at best. The locks are turning, doors in the hall, there’s no way out. Oh, going nowhere anywhere. Oh, going nowhere anywhere. I have a hard time wanting to help. I think of myself. Leave the glass upon the shelf. Don’t open the door, no matter who for. But will I see his face before he goes? I’ll never know just what what what was wrong. Not listening, not sinking in, we’re two brick walls. Oh, going nowhere anywhere. Oh, going nowhere anywhere. Oh, what do you want? I’ve got a funny feeling you don’t even know. Don’t know. But now you say you’re feeling fine.
Track Name: One to One
You… you take it all away from me. You… you… you take it all away. One-two-three, there it goes. You’re filling in the potholes. Smooth out the road so I know how to find my way back home, and you… you take it all away from me. Say whatever you want to say, it’s always one to one in this game. Say whatever you want to say, it’s always one to one in this game. You… you put it all on me. You… you pile it all on top of me. Suddenly, I can’t breathe. Turn on the light but I can’t see. What do you want from me? What do you want from me now? You… you pile it all on top of me.
Track Name: Way to Go
March, march, march. These boots have seen their share of mud, and I’ve been burned, burned, burned again. Friendly fire, it never ends. And I’ve been left for dead, it seems. Open hands, empty dreams. Should I just walk, walk, walk away? A voice in my head says stand up and be brave. Past behind me (standing on my own). Sky above me (standing on my own). Only way to move is forward. Only way (standing on my own). I’m feeling sick. The universe likes to play this trick on me. Did I pick the wrong door? Been down this path before. Do I close the gates? Erase everything, admit that it’s too late? Standing all alone also means I’m standing on my own.
Track Name: Shrouded in Steel
If you’ve ever truly been in love, you’ve surely asked the stars above to keep watch over your darling, though sometimes the stars are not enough. Nobody warned me of this pain. It’s like cutting half my body away. Each day he walks out of our door, I get even more attached and I was unaware of the pain involved, and I’m a little scared of emotions so strong. The world won’t hold your hand – high speed and high demand. High atop the silvery structure, the wind never bows at your command. There’s no telling fire what to do, and metal can go straight through. Your heart’s not shrouded in steel. I wish I could feel you breathe, and I was unaware of the pain involved, and I’m a little scared of emotions so strong. This t-shirt is so thin, won’t you put something on to safeguard your skin? You can never be too careful these days. The miles, the miles passing and all the while, still got a ways to go. I feel the chill spread fast and deadly the further I get. Oh please, believe me! Is this a common thing? Am I the only one to feel this way? And should I be concerned about what’s rattling round in my brain? It scares me a bit too much to know that someday it’s all going to end. I feel the chill spread fast until you come warm me again. Oh please, don’t leave me! And I was unaware of the pain involved and I’m a little scared of emotions so strong. Nobody warned me of this pain. It’s like cutting, cutting, cutting away.
Track Name: Remembered in a Song
On the lake at dawn, she contemplates the next move. It’s always left to her to figure out what to do. In her reflection, she sees what she regrets. Much to her dismay, she also sees what lies ahead. She knows who she has to hurt, who she’ll remember in a song. She’s pretty sure, but hopes she’s wrong. Death is heavy in her hands; holds it high above her head. Lets it plunge into the water. She is through with bloodshed. She is through with bloodshed.
